We are a 79-year-old, 2nd generation, well established, medical model private optometry practice in East Hampton, Connecticut ready to transition to a new owner. Generations of loyal patients and their families have been returning to our practice for over half a century!

We are a contact lens specialty practice (lots of toric and multifocal patients) with most patients coming in annually for their exams (which translates into TWO exam fees for ONE patient visit year after year). We have fully configured contact lens trial lens inventories including just about every lens you’ve ever heard of and some you haven’t. We routinely achieve terrific vision with contact lenses for just about everyone.
The optical dispensary has about 1,500 frames, all owned by the practice, available for patients to try on and purchase. We have an in-house finishing lab with a large inventory of lens blanks enabling us to produce finished single vision eyeglasses in less than 15 minutes at a significant cost savings compared to typical commercial labs while maintaining excellent quality control.
We have 15,000 - 20,000 active patients in our office management system returning on a regular schedule.

The owner OD wants to cut back to a day or two a week while guiding and mentoring his successor. We currently only work 4 days a week (Thursdays off), between 32 and 38 hours seeing about 15 patients a day. No Saturdays, unless you want to add them.
We see patients of all ages, typically from 4 to 102 (that’s our record!) for all sorts of refractive issues including issues with binocularity requiring prism, dry eyes, foreign body removal and the diagnosis and treatment of every conceivable condition that patients present with. We co-manage LASIK and cataract procedures and work with terrific cataract, glaucoma, cornea, retina and neuro-ophthalmology specialists to insure our patients' best outcomes.
We make our own hours, set our own vacations and have a wonderful time interacting with our patients, who return year after year becoming friends.
