Our Practice Values and Mission

Located in a suburban community in northeast Connecticut 10 minutes from the border of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, our private practice prides itself on maintaining a friendly family atmosphere, creating a work environment and schedule that easily allows for a great work/life balance. Our practice is housed in a beautiful and spacious building, complete with an eyewear boutique, 6 exam rooms, and 5 separate ancillary rooms for special testing – everything you might need to provide quality end-to-end care for each of your patients.

For almost 30 years, we have delivered care to multiple generations of established patients, while also welcoming new ones every day. We are especially busy in managing cases regarding glaucoma, macular degeneration, contact lens, diabetes, and dry eye conditions. Additionally, our practice sees a variety of health emergency and urgent care patients who are referred to us by our neighboring doctors’ offices and ER. We also work closely with our referring ophthalmologist for co-management of cataract and lasik patients including one-day post-op. As you can see, we have been and continue to be an incredibly busy practice!

Our location in Danielson is rapidly growing, and our two-doctor practice is looking to add a third provider in order to continue delivering the highest quality eye care to our patients. You will be supported not just by your fellow providers, but by a full team of sixteen staff members, in order to provide a full range of optometry services to our community.

Optometrist Job Duties, Responsibilities & Expectations

As our newest optometrist, you will be a welcome addition to our staff. You will deliver high-quality optometric care to our patients using both clinical and interpersonal skills. Our ideal optometric candidate is knowledgeable, yet personable, and prioritizes patient-focused care.

Your regular duties will include:

• Perform thorough and comprehensive eye exams, medical office visit exams
• Handle urgent eye care emergencies
• Diagnose and assist in the treatment of ocular disease
• Prescribe corrective glasses and contact lenses
• Utilize counseling and education techniques to promote healthy vision
• Maintain detailed patient records noting diagnosis, treatment plans, and progress
• Code exams and procedures properly (Our established doctors can help educate and assist you with this task.)
• Provide outside referrals when medically necessary

Optometrist Job Requirements & Qualifications

• Degree as a Doctor of Optometry (O.D.)
• Valid Connecticut state license to practice optometry
• Residency training and/or medical setting experience is preferred, but not required
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively with a range of patient personalities and staff
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exhibits strong workplace professionalism and personal ethics
• Additional area of clinical interest or specialty is a plus!
• Be able to work full time hours. Tues 8-8, Wed 8-5, Thur 8-5, Fri 8-4 and Sat 8-12

Compensation and Benefits

Our doctors receive competitive salaries (commensurate with experience) and are eligible for bonus opportunities, as well as a sign-on bonus. The starting salary is 140K. We also are pleased to offer a full benefits package including:
